Briefly explain your role

My role as Control & Response Supervisor is to lead, direct, motivate, organise and monitor all ongoing events on a day to day basis making sure we hit business needs and targets.

What do you love about your job?

The most enjoyable part of my role is being able to work within a tight knit team.

What made you decide to start a career in the security sector?

I started working within security to pay for university and fell in love with the multiple different roles and responsibilities I was completing day to day.

How does KGS support you in your role?

Kings supported me through my IVF journey. They have also continued to encourage and support me in my career development.

Has there been any significant barriers to progression in your career within the security profession?

I’ve had multiple barriers within my carrier and it’s been like the book “We’re going on a bear hunt”. Having to go through, round, or over it! But I’ve pushed through and I’m happy with my career at Kings!

How has your previous work experience prepared you for your role in security?

I’ve played high level sport from a young age and one of the main similarities is it’s helped me progress and build long term connections.

What’s your most memorable moment in your career so far?

Being part of a big mobilisation and watching the contract grow and strive .

What opportunities do you feel the security profession offers?

I feel the security industry offers such a wide range of opportunities for everybody no matter what gender/race/sexuality or disability.

What do you do at work on a daily basis?

My roles and responsibilities are varied and diverse. I supervise the team on shift and make sure we are hitting all business needs with ongoing training and practice scenarios on a daily basis.

What advice would you give for someone new starting in the industry?

Try all aspects of security and come in with an open mind!
