Briefly explain your role

My role covers multiple responsibilities, including supervising my team and completing their rota, weekly security audits and other duties.

What do you love about your job?

I love the responsibilities my job includes, as well as the friendly team environment.

What made you decide to start a career in the security sector?

I needed a job and applied for a security officer role at Kings. After realising how rewarding it was looking after people’s health and safety, I made the decision to stick with it as a career.

How does KST support you in your role?

Kings have always been there to help me progress not only professionally but also support me if I am going through a rough time in my personal life.

Has there been any significant barriers to progression in your career within the security profession?

Not at all.

When I first started at Kings around 10 years ago, there was no supervisor spot on my site. I took responsibility for supervising the site and learnt what it takes to be a great supervisor. After proving myself, Kings awarded me with the supervisor role.

How has your previous work experience prepared you for your role in security?

The security industry was a brand new experience to me when I first joined Kings, but I have always enjoyed taking on responsibilities and challenges.

What’s your most memorable moment in your career so far?

When I was promoted to Site Supervisor.

What opportunities do you feel the security profession offers?
