Overview
Kings Secure Technologies is committed to embedding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles into every corner of our operations. Our dedication to environmental sustainability, social responsibility and ethical governance drives us to impact our community and the planet positively. We have unified all our ESG initiatives under the ‘Kings Secure Tomorrow’ programme to showcase and celebrate our efforts. This programme highlights our activities aligned with our core values and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring that our contributions are integral to our daily culture and support global efforts to create a better future.
Key Highlights of the programme:
- We have set ourselves a target to be Carbon Neutral by 2040. (SDG 13 Climate Action)
- Through our Skills for Security programme, we have trained 7 young people in the last 12 months. (SDG 4 Quality Education)
- 100% of our workforce has been trained in anti-corruption, data protection, and workplace respect and inclusion. (SDG 16 Peace, justice and strong institutions)

Environmental Sustainability
There are three SDGs we focus on in this section:
- Affordable and Clean Energy
- Industry Innovation and Infrastructure
- Responsible Consumption and Production
Key achievements
- ISO14001 certification
- We reduced electricity consumption by 14% by upgrading equipment and lighting.
- We save 500 tons of CO2 annually through our DYMENSiON & QuidvisRisk reporting platforms
- Our Compliance Team completes weekly checks in all buildings to ensure Water efficiency and quality
- We recycle 95% of our Head Office waste
Key Commitments / Documents
- Moving all electricity supply to zero-carbon providers by 2024
- Transition fleet to 100% electric by 2040
- Conduct analysis on our employees’ commute and business travel in 2025
- Conduct analysis of our supply chain and offer support on their Scopes 1 and 2 (to support our Scope 3)
- Continue to support our Environmental Team to meet every quarter to support KST in remaining accountable.

Social Responsibility
There are four SDGs we focus on in this section:

Key achievements in 2024:
- Supporting Colleagues: We believe in supporting colleagues with great rewards and benefits, such as financial wellness, flexible working, and healthcare plans. Across the KST group, 28% of our colleagues use Wagestream to help manage their financial wellbeing. 12% of our workforce has the option to work flexibly
- Engaging Communities: So far in 2024 we have donated £1400 to our charities Macmillian Cancer Support, Yorkshire Cancer Research, Cancer Research UK, Whizz-Kids, Young Women’s Trust and The Daniel Fox Foundation which will support them in their valuable work. KST also donated and fitted a new security system to secure CATCH, a community space based in Harehills, Leeds. The charity estimates it has saved them over £5k in costs and maintenance
- Championing Social Mobility: In 2024, our apprenticeship scheme sees 7 young people trained in the fire, security & life safety systems sector. We support ex-military personnel transitioning from the armed forces with mentorship and training. We also run an annual Women in Security campaign to showcase the fantastic women in our business

- Supporting Colleagues: Each year, seven colleagues are assigned a board-level mentor for 12 months
- Engaging Communities: We are developing a calendar of events to encourage and promote more fundraising and volunteering across the business
- Championing Social Mobility: We are implementing a process to recruit and capture more ethnic minority businesses in our supplier chain

- 100% of our workforce has been trained in anti-corruption, data protection, and workplace respect and inclusion
